“I feel happy and blessed to be working with IDF”
When did you first start working with IDF?
I started working with IDF 2 years ago with their local economic development work in my quarter. I was selected by the quarter head. After, I decided to continue work with IDF and I was interviewed and selected for a community volunteer position.
What kind of work do you do with IDF?
The kind of work I do with IDF is community volunteering for the home based care programme. Home based care if care giving to client at home and is designed to give them physical support, psychosocial support, spiritual support and nutritional support.
What do you most enjoy about your work with IDF?
The most enjoying part about my work is to render services to my clients and when they have moved to a healthier state I am happy because I have helped them in one way or another.
What kind of work do you do in the hospital now?
I was recently one of two community volunteers who was chosen for a rotation at the local hospital to learn about hypertension and diabetes. The training course at the hospital will last three months. I welcome the clients and get to see the work that is done at the reception and I help with the reclassification of files. I assist in counselling on results and give advice on nutrition such as balance diet.
Where do you see yourself in five years?
I see myself in 5 years helping so many clients and myself to get back their happiness and to help people find hopes to live by through capacity building with the needy.
What is the most important lesson you have learned?
The most important lesson I have learned through working with IDF is to always search for knowledge and to build my capacity in order to achieve excellence.
