Coordinator of IDF BamendaOussematou Dameni Therese – IDF Coordinator

Oussematou is a trained development socio-economist and possesses a bachelor’s degree in business management from Université du Québec in Montréal.  She is one of the founders of IDF and has been with the organisation since its inception.  From 2000 to 2002, she organised and coordinated a team of resource  people living with HIV and AIDS in an awareness raising campaign against AIDS in 80 villages of the Menchum area and 69 colleges and high schools in Mezam and Mechum. Since February 2006 she has been working in partnership with the Regional Delegation of Public Health of the North West, the Regional Technical Group and the Treatment Centre of the Regional Hospital of Bamenda, in directing a team of seven Community Relay Agents and 30 local community volunteers.  These volunteers and agents ensure that people living with HIV and AIDS (including orphans and vulnerable children) in Bamenda and Wum receive the necessary care and treatment at home. Currently, she is working on an innovative project in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation which   aims to give women living with HIV and AIDS more financial independence and generally enhances the quality of their lives.

 She is an expert on Local Economic Development issues.

AmahAmah Julius – HIV/AIDS Program Supervisor

Amah is originally from Wum, a village about 3 hours from Bamenda.   Amah has been with IDF since 2000 when he started as a community volunteer. In 2002 he became part time IDF staff and participated actively in the education and awareness raising camping on HIV and AIDS.  In 2007 he became full-time staff in charge of the field coordination and management of Orphan and Vulnerable Children programme.  Since 2008 he has been a Community Relay Agent and has been in charge of field work coordination where he supervises 30 community volunteers (CV) and 6 community relay agents (CRA). He coaches CVs and CRAs on how to do their job in the field.  He has 14 children and in his spare time enjoys watching films and sports.

Ndikum Terrence Awasum – Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

Terrence is originally from Bamenda and has been with IDF for close to three years.  He started as a program manager with the SIDA COOP program and is currently the IDF Monitoring and Evaluation Officer. Before joining IDF, Terrence worked with several other local and international NGOs in Bamenda as a field coordinator.  Terrence has a BSc in Economics from the University of Buea.  In his free time Terrence enjoys reading educational materials, gardening and playing football.

 

Macheko Sulamite Flore – Secretary/Cashier

Flore is originally from Douala (6 hours south of Bamenda) and recently moved to Bamenda to join the IDF team. Prior to joining IDF, Flore worked as an executive assistant and assistant accountant for a forestry company as well as an insurance agent for an insurance company. She received her Bachelor of Arts from Buea University in 2001.  Flore is excited to be part of the IDF team and is looking forward to visiting the field and interacting with IDF beneficiaries particularly the young mothers that IDF helps train in life skills.  Flore has a 14 month old little girl called Orleane. When Flore isn’t working, she enjoys reading mystery novels and going for walks with Orleane.

JuliusTuntu Julius  – Driver

Julius originally comes from Nkambe, about 160km North of Bamenda.  He has been a driver since 1987 when he initially started as a taxi driver. Julius has been working with IDF since 2003 and is a driver with the organisation.  With IDF Julius has had the opportunity to develop other skills such as facilitating condom use workshops and teaching others about leader health lives.   Julius is married to his wife, Oralia, and has two children Jean-Marie (5) and Kelly (8).  When he isn’t at work, Julius enjoys computer games and sports.

MendiSamou Paul Hervé – Webmaster and IT Technician

Hervé originates from Bangoua, a village situated about 21/2 hours from Bamenda. Before joining the IDF team, he was a student at the Centre de Formation Informatique St Vincent de Paul (CFISVP), an information technology school in Yaoundé. At CFISVP he studied computing and graduated as a computer trainer. He also previously studied computer maintenance and networking at the Centre de Formation Bien Heureux Père Palau de Nkolbisson in Yaoundé. In his free time, Hervé likes to read computing and educational manuals, watch debates and scientific documentaries. Hervé also enjoys playing soccer.
